Clayton Ridge Elementary students hold winter concert in Garnavillo
School Concert
Clayton Ridge Elementary students ushered in the holiday season with a winter concert. Pre-schoolers through 5th graders joined together for a medley of winter favorites, concluding with sing-alongs with a packed audience at the Garnavillo Gymnasium.

Clayton Ridge Elementary held their winter concert on Dec. 4 in the Garnavillo Gymnasium, which hosted a packed crowd of parents and community members. The concert began shortly after 2 p.m.

The concert featured musical performances from students in pre-school through 5th grade, opening with a story, “Tales and Tunes of the Season,” told to the audience by Elementary Principal Laura Bilden.

Following the principal, the pre-school students performed renditions of “Three Christmas Trees” and “Five Little Elves.”

The kindergarten class then delighted the crowd with “We are Santa’s Elves” and “My Red Sled.”

First graders added to the merriment with “It’s a Musical Time of Year” and “Have a Happy, Happy Holiday.”

Next, second graders performed “Christmas Wishes” and “Snow Day (Hip Hip Hooray!).”

Third grade (“Here Comes the Snow” and “Peaceful”), fourth grade (“Winter Bells” and “Follow the Wondrous Star”) and fifth grade (“Peppermint Winter” and “A Winter Wish”) students followed. The concert finished with all of the elementary grades joining for a medley of sing-alongs, including a boisterous rendition of “Deck the Halls.”

The concert was directed by Clayton Ridge instructors Nicole Hampton, Savannah Zarr and Kendra Wilke.
