The holiday season is about to shine brighter than ever in Elkader. Main Street Elkader, the Elkader Area Chamber of Commerce and city of Elkader are excited to announce the 2026 Elkader Holiday Light Show will run Nov. 21 through Dec. 31, bringing festive lights, holiday cheer and community spirit to Elkader for another magical season.
This year’s light show is set to be the largest yet, featuring a record-breaking 60 participating businesses, organizations and community members who have come together to transform Elkader into a holiday wonderland.
With the addition of more participants, the 2026 event will also feature an expanded light show route, including a brand-new loop through the Elkader City Campground. This exciting addition will provide visitors with even more festive displays to enjoy as they make their way throughout the community.
The Elkader Holiday Light Show will be illuminated nightly from 5 to 10 p.m., Nov. 21 through Dec. 31. Families, friends and visitors of all ages are invited to explore the displays, enjoy the creativity of participating businesses and organizations and experience the magic of the holiday season in Elkader.
In addition to the nightly light displays, special events are planned for Saturday evenings throughout the holiday season, offering even more opportunities for families and visitors to celebrate together. Details about these activities will be announced on the Elkader Holiday Light Show’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Community members and visitors are encouraged to follow both accounts for the latest updates, event announcements, and holiday happenings.
“The Elkader Holiday Light Show continues to grow each year thanks to the incredible support of our local businesses, organizations, residents and volunteers,” said event organizers. “Reaching 60 participants and expanding within the Elkader City Campground is an exciting milestone. We’re proud to see our community come together to create something special that brings joy to local families while also welcoming visitors to Elkader throughout the holiday season.”
The Elkader Holiday Light Show is a collaborative community effort supported by Main Street Elkader, the Elkader Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Elkader and the many participants who dedicate their time, creativity and resources to making the event possible. Beyond spreading holiday cheer, the event encourages visitors to experience Elkader’s welcoming atmosphere, support local businesses and discover everything the community has to offer.
There’s still an opportunity to get involved. Businesses, organizations and individuals interested in participating in this year’s Elkader Holiday Light Show are encouraged to contact Main Street Elkader at mainstreetelkader@gmail.com for more information.
