The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at a farm in rural Holy Cross on Dec. 29. 

In a press release, the sheriff’s office said preliminary findings indicate the victim was working on the farm when he became entrapped in a piece of agricultural equipment. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

The incident remains under investigation by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Currently, no further details are being released out of respect for the family. 

Assisting the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office on scene were the Holy Cross Fire Department, Holy Cross Ambulance Service and Iowa State Patrol.
