Robin Rae Ackley Kelso 70, of Rogersville, Ala., passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home after a brave battle with cancer on Aug. 14, 2025.

Robin was born to Glenn and Shirley (Philp) Ackley in Waterloo on June 24, 1955. Formerly from northeast Iowa, she attended schools in Garnavillo, graduating from Guttenberg in 1973.

Robin is survived by her husband of 25 years, Eric M. Kelso; two sons, Casey Fierstine of Birmingham, Ala., and Gabe Fierstine of Ky.; grandsons, Gryphon Root from Fla., Woody from Birmingham, Ala.; granddaughter, Cassel from Ky.; brothers, Gary (Rusty) Duenow of Cedar Rapids, Terry (Arlene) Ackley of Dubuque, Rick (Dianne) Ackley of Dubuque, brother-in-law, Dave Schmitt of Dubuque; sisters, Cindy Ackley Ginetti (Fred) of Phoenix, Ariz, and Jamie (George) Ackley-Baker of Burlington and several nephews and nieces.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sue Schmitt, and nephew, Eric Schmitt.

Per her wishes, there will be no services following cremation. May you be free from pain and at peace, Robin. We love you!
