The Northeast Iowa Farm Antique Association is putting on the 45th Anniversary Plagman Barn Show Days later this week. The event will take place from Sept. 18 through 20 at the Plagman Barn property.

The grounds will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is advertising activities as part of Farming Through the Decades, including a horse pull at 1 p.m. and a free kid's movie at the White Barn at 6 p.m. on Saturday; a church service at the Red Barn at 9 a.m., an antique tractor pull at 10:30 a.m. and B&B pedal pulls at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Other attractions available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. include apple butter making, baling, sheep shearing, broom making, and threshing oats. A blacksmith shop, steam-powered grist mill, saloon, sawmill, and other locations will be open to visitors as well.

A country store and flea market will be part of the festivities. Dave Poggenklass will provide live music entertainment on Friday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), while Sounds of Nashville will perform Sunday (12:30-4 p.m.).

There will be food stands available, including ice cream by the Balltown Safari Club, Poncho's Hamburger Stand, and Caroline's Kitchen by the Jefferson Go Hawks 4-H. The White Barn will also have food available on Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors will be able to participate in raffles and auctions scheduled for each day of the event.

Admissions for the event are $10 for adults. Children under 12 get in for free. The admission covers all three days. The event prohibits alcohol and pets.
