Lovers of classic cars and music can mark their calendars for the 28th annual River Park Cruisers Car Show in Guttenberg on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The roads will be bustling with cars ranging from street rods to convertibles to pony cars that span the rich and diverse history of American automobiles.
The car show will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on River Park Drive. Registration is from 9 a.m. until the start of the show, and the entry fee is $20.
Trophies will be awarded at approximately 3:00 p.m. for Best Ford, Best GM, Best Mopar, Mayor's Choice, Best of Show and 22 other classes at the Welcome Center.
Following the show, a car cruise led by Dave and Renae Kraus's 1970 Ford XL will leave at 3:30 p.m., taking the cavalcade of automotive history on a showcase run through the Guttenberg area.
Cruise route
Starting in Guttenberg, the cruise will travel to Monona on Hwy. 52, then take Pleasant Ridge Road to Marquette and stop in McGregor where the McGregor Fire Dept. will be serving a meal as a fundraiser for the Fire Dept. From there the cars will be cruising back to Guttenberg on the Great River Road.
Music
After the cruise finishes, Walking Molly will provide musical entertainment at the Guttenberg Brewery, sponsored by the Guttenberg Brewery, J&L Marine and Dave Brown Classic Rides, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Brewery is located at 530 South 1st Street. A food truck will also be available.
All money raised by The River Park Cruisers Car Show goes back to the local community.
