Vivian Mae Lott, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Volga on April 3, 2026.
She was born on July 23, 1937, in Nashua, to George Hanley and Gladys McGowan.
Vivian graduated from West High School, Waterloo, in 1955. She married Donald Ray Lott on June 29, 1957, at Grace Methodist Church, Waterloo.
She worked at Raths, Waterloo and belonged to various saddle clubs.
Vivian loved writing letters and spending time with people. She had a deep appreciation for gardening, nature and hummingbirds. She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and found great joy in her faith.
Her home was her happy place, and she especially treasured visits from her family. Known as a wonderful conversationalist, Vivian had a gift for making others feel heard and valued.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Daniel (Renelle) Lott, Diane Lott-Garcia, Michael Lott, Linda Lott, Joseph (Melissa) Lott, Samuel Lott, Thomas (Kimberly) Lott and Luke (April) Lott; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and brothers, Richard and Michael Beckner.
A celebration of life will be held at the Volga City Opera House, Volga, on Saturday, July 25, from 1 to 4 p.m.
