The Central football team fell to 1-1 following a 34-20 loss at Central City on Sept. 4.
The Warriors led 8-6 after the first quarter, but six second-quarter points gave the Wildcats a 12-8 advantage at halftime. The lead increased to 20-14 by the end of the third quarter. Although Central scored once more in the final quarter, Central City put up two more touchdowns to seal the victory, which was their first of the season.
No stats from either team were posted at press time.
Central will host its home opener at the Dittmer Sports Complex in Elkader this Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. Opponent Calamus-Wheatland comes in 0-1 after an opening week loss to GMG. The team did not play last week.
