Last week there was just one meet on the schedule—the Oelwein Coed Invitational on April 21—for the Central boys track and field team, after an April 23 meet at Waukon was canceled due to weather.
The Warriors finished fifth or better in all five relays in which they competed, including runner-up in the 4x400, their time of 3:41.48 two seconds behind winner Union Community. The team was third in the 4x200 (1:37.82), 4x800 (8:57.68) and distance medley (3:51.03), then fifth in the 4x100 with a time of 48.12 seconds.
More top fives came in the distance races, where Michael White and Cruz Healy placed a respective fourth and fifth in the 3000 meter run with times of 12:07.88 and 12:08.38. White was also ninth in the 1600, on a time of 5:13.33. Teammate Carson Ruegnitz took fourth in the event after crossing the finish line in 4:55.24.
In the 800 meter run, Declan Finley finished eighth (2:24.53) and Healy 14th (2:28.45).
The sprints featured four Warriors in the 100 meter dash, led by Henry Reimer in 10th at 12.75 seconds. Breckon Holst was 15th at 13.36 seconds, Julian Singleton 27th at 15.05 and Griffin Koehn 28th at 15.64.
Henry Reimer and Koehn placed a respective 18th and 26th in the 200 meter dash, with Reimer posting a time of 26.19 seconds and Koehn a 33.41. Koehn also ran to 23rd in the 400 on a time of 1:15.44, placing two spots behind Holst (1:08.84).
Singleton turned in a throw of 38-02, good for seventh in the shot put, then hit 105-11 for 15th in the discus. Ruegnitz earned eighth in the discus, after hitting a distance of 119-04.
In the long jump, George Reimer landed in 12th with a distance of 16-02.75.
