Tyce Wikner won two events and placed fourth or better in two more to lead MFL MarMac at the Clayton Ridge Boys Track Invitational on April 30.
The freshman crossed the finish line in 24.38 seconds for the top spot in the 200 meter dash, and posted a time of 56.02 seconds to win the 400. Wikner rounded out the sprints with a fourth place run in the 100, turning in a time of 12.11 seconds. He also did well in the discus, throwing a season best 118 feet, 6.5 inches for second place.
Along with Wikner, Rylan Schroeder competed in the 200 meter dash for the Bulldogs. He placed seventh with a time of 26.89 seconds. Gage Paulus was 13th in the 100.
In the distance races, MFL MarMac saw some of its best results in the 3200, where Trace Moser and Adian Reynolds ran to fourth and sixth on respective times of 12:10.34 and 13:19.10. Reynolds also finished fifth in the 800 and ninth in the 1600, posting times of 2:45.39 and 6:37.29. Jude Onken placed sixth in the 800, crossing in 2:46.26, then clocked a result of 6:32.84 for eighth in the 1600.
Moser was the Bulldogs’ only hurdler, leaping to seventh place with a time of 1:13.43 in the 400 meter event. He was also part of the team’s third place shuttle hurdle relay. Additionally, MFL MarMac was second in the distance medley relay and fifth in the 4x100.
More top fives came in the field events. Moser was the runner-up in the high jump, reaching a height of 5 feet, 6 inches. Marcus Stoddard was the runner-up in the shot put, thanks to a throw of 36 feet, 9 inches. Teammate Tyler Pecinovsky was fourth after reaching 34 feet and a half inch.
Three other Bulldogs joined Wikner in the discus, including a fifth place result for Archie Carlson, who hit 98 feet, 2.5 inches. Stoddard and Pecinovsky finished a respective eighth and 11th on throws of 77 feet, 5 inches and 70 feet.
The Bulldogs hosted their own boys invitational on May 4, then will compete in the Upper Iowa Conference Meet at Clayton Ridge on May 7.
