The MFL MarMac boys track and field team tested itself against the rest of the Upper Iowa Conference on May 7, at Clayton Ridge.
Freshman Tyce Wikner continued to lead the Bulldogs, turning in respective fourth and seventh place finishes in the 400 and 200 meter dashes. He posted a time of 54.29 seconds in the 400, then 24.46 seconds in the 200.
The only other individual running event MFL MarMac participated in at the conference meet was the 1600 meter run, where Adian Reynolds finished 16th after crossing the line in 6:01.95.
The relays were highlighted by an eighth place mark in the 4x400, as Blake Schutte, Jude Onken, Trace Moser and Wikner combined for a time of 4:10.93.
In the shuttle hurdle relay, it was ninth place for Rylan Schroeder, Archie Carlson, Schutte and Moser, who posted a 1:25.36.
The Bulldogs were 10th in both the 4x800 and distance medley. The 4x800 included Moser, Schutte, Reynolds and Onken, who ran the race in 10:59.55, while the distance medley featured a time of 4:32.34 from Schutte, Marcus Stoddard, Schroeder and Onken.
Tyler Pecinovsky, Carlson, Stoddard and Schroeder were 11th in the 4x100 relay, after completing the race in 51.87 seconds.
In the field events, Moser leapt to eighth in the high jump on a height of 5-04.00. Stoddard and Pecinovsky were a respective 10th and 15th in the shot put, hitting throws of 36-10.00 and 33-10.50. The discus saw Wikner reach 103-08.50, which was good for 14th place, while Archie Carlson landed in 16th with a throw of 88-03.
Now, MFL MarMac will head to the Class 2A state qualifying meet, scheduled for Thursday, May 14, at North Fayette Valley.
