Joseph Patrick Collins, 61, of McGregor, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, Wis.
Joe was born on March 11, 1965, at McGregor Hospital to Herbert and Joanne (Schultz) Collins. He graduated from MarMac High School in 1984 and briefly attended college, pursuing studies in radio broadcasting.
On Aug. 5, 2008, Joe was united in marriage to Beth Fox. Together they shared many happy years filled with family, friends and the activities Joe loved most.
Joe had a lifelong passion for music and especially enjoyed writing songs. He was an avid fan of car racing and loved cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Many cherished memories were made during family golf outings. Joe treasured spending time with his close-knit circle of friends, whether playing cards, sharing stories or enjoying a beverage together. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, grilling and cooking for those he loved.
Above all, Joe will be remembered for his optimistic outlook on life. He had a remarkable ability to find the positive in any situation and brought encouragement and laughter to those around him. His kind spirit, sense of humor and genuine friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Collins-Stewart; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Dawn Fox; and his beloved dogs, Cody, Scooter and Lexi.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Collins; his father, Herbert “Herb” Collins; his stepfather, Lowell Stewart; his siblings, Jeni (Jeff) Westphal, Cindy (George) Falteich and Tim (Sherrie) Collins; his sister-in-law, Becci Fox; his faithful dog, Lucy; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on June 27, at Old Man River Restaurant and Brewery in McGregor, where family and friends shared memories, told stories and celebrated Joe’s life.
