Randy Lee Dettmann passed away at the Guttenberg Care Center on July 25, 2026, after a long illness.

Randy was born Dec. 1, 1953, to Donald and Gloria (Livingston) Dettmann.

Randy attended Garnavillo School and graduated in 1972. In 1972, Randy married Roseanne Balk they had two sons, Kyle and Travis. They later divorced.

Randy lived most of his life in Clayton. He loved hunting and the Cubs. Randy worked for Pattison in Clayton for several years. He then worked for Quanstahl Construction in Decorah until his retirement.

Randy was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Dettmann; his parents; his siblings, Brenda Dettmann and Ken Dettmann.

Surviving Randy is his son, Travis (Jessica); granddaughters, Kensingtin and Brooklynn; his siblings, Jean Godden, Lisa Dettmann and Kristine Quandahl (Kevin) and his nephews and nieces.

Randy fought a long illness and is finally at peace.

There are no services. Immediate family at graveside.
