Central softball players Oakley Armstrong and Payton Stannard have earned all-conference recognition in the Upper Iowa Conference’s small school division.
Armstrong, a senior, was a first team selection. She played in all 26 regular season games for the Warriors, boosting the team with a .444 batting average and .494 on base percentage. She collected a team-high 32 hits, including eight doubles and a homerun, in addition to seven walks and a hit by pitch. Armstrong led Central with 18 RBIs and ranked second on the team with 15 runs scored. She also stole five bases.
Stannard played in 21 regular season games, garnering second team status as a sophomore. She accumulated a .413 batting average and .456 on base percentage, and trailed only Armstrong with 26 hits. Stannard reached base five more times via walk and three times on errors. Once on base, she led the Warriors with a perfect 11-for-11 stolen base record. Additionally, Stannard drove in nine runs and scored a team-high 18.
