Central opened the 2026 football season with a convincing 30-8 victory at West Central on Aug. 28—in a game that was called in the third quarter after the Blue Devils sustained too many injuries to continue.
The Warriors netted their first points in the first quarter, taking an early 6-0 lead, then added two more touchdowns in the second. West Central also scored a TD and two-point conversion that quarter, giving Central a 22-8 advantage heading into halftime. The Warriors tacked on their final eight points in the third quarter.

Central will look to improve to 2-0 this Friday, Sept. 4, at Central City. The Wildcats lost their opener 34-12 at WACO.
