Sandra J. “Sandy” Beversdorf, 89, of Dubuque, passed away on Aug. 20, 2026, at UnityPoint Health, Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
Visitation and funeral service was held Aug. 26, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.
Sandy was born on Feb. 2, 1937, in Iowa City, the daughter of Kenneth and Esther (Meana) Burroughs. She married Ronald Beversdorf and he precedes her in death.
Sandy worked as the deli manager at Eagle’s Country Market and most recently at Hartig Drug. She remained a dedicated employee, working until May of this year at age 89.
Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed dancing and country music and especially loved playing cards with her family and friends. She was artistic and enjoyed doing crafts. Sandy was a friend to all and will be remembered for her generous and giving nature.
She is survived by her children, Toni Wandling, Terry Webb, Tamara (Brad) Miller, Anna (Doug Griffin) Beeh, Roger Brooks, Timothy (Amber) Brooks and Bobby (Wendy) Brooks; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Pat) Burroughs, and sister Linda (Larry) Hulsing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ronald; her son Dennis Jacobs; son-in-law Tom Wandling; grandchildren Lacy, Christopher, Zacharyah and Casper; and her sister Sharon Wieland.
Sandy will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, love of life and caring spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
