Weather limited the Central boys golf team to two meets last week—one an Upper Iowa Conference triangular at Waukon and the other an invite at New Hampton.
The Warriors placed third in the April 13 triangular, their score of 173 trailing first place Waukon’s 154 and MFL MarMac’s 162. The Indians had the top two individuals, with Dylan Stegen and Vaughn Stegen each shooting 37s.
For Central, Owen Burke and Griffen Hammersland matched one another with 40s, then Owen Hammersland followed with a 46 and Blake Stevenson a 47. Isaac Loan finished the meet with a 49 and Weston Stannard a 51.
On April 18, the Warriors ranked fourth at the nine-hole New Hampton Chickasaws Boys Golf Invitational. Their score of 174 mirrored Oelwein’s and was one shot back of runner-up New Hampton. South Winneshiek was the top team with a 150. No individual scores were listed for Central.
This week, Central faced off against South Winn and Turkey Valley in a home triangular on April 20, then played at the Clayton Ridge 18-Hole Invitational on April 21.
