Clayton Ridge swept Central 11-0 and 20-2 in an Upper Iowa Conference doubleheader at the Dittmer Sports Complex in Elkader on June 9.

The Eagles took control early in the opener, scoring five runs in the first inning. They tacked on four more runs in the third inning and two in the fourth for the 11-0 win.

Clayton Ridge collected 12 hits as a team, supporting Karly Wille on the mound, who allowed just two Warrior hits over four shutout innings. She struck out four batters and did not issue a walk.

The Eagles stayed hot in the nightcap, rolling to a 20-2 victory behind a 17-hit outburst. Clayton Ridge broke the contest open with a 14-run third inning after already taking a 6-1 lead in the second.

The Warriors scored two runs on three hits against Eagle pitcher Emery Ostrander, who struck out four and walked no batters in three and two-thirds innings.

Central is now 2-10 overall and 2-6 in conference play. This week will be a busy one, starting with a doubleheader at Turkey Valley on June 15. The Warriors will play at Crestwood on June 16, before welcoming New Hampton for a twin bill the following night. Action will conclude June 20, in a tournament at Central City.
