The Central volleyball team played just one match last week due to homecoming activities. The Warriors battled MFL MarMac on Sept. 29, falling in four sets with scores of 18-25, 21-25, 28-26 and 15-25.

Senior Brylee Erickson continued to lead the Warriors both offensively and defensively, finishing the night with 12 kills and 21 digs. She also had a strong night behind the service line, going 15-for-16 with two aces. Ella Frieden had a great night at the net as well, recording eight kills and 11 digs. Carlie Bergan added six kills and nine digs while serving 11-for-13 with two aces. Avery Fette contributed three kills and 10 digs and had a strong night serving, going 16-for-17 with an ace.

Rylie Kuhse came off the bench and made a nice contribution from the service line, going 11-for-12 and eight digs, while Tenley Bormann was perfect on the night, serving 13-for-13. Setter Zoey Armstrong continued to do a great job running our offense, leading the team with 29 assists while also adding 18 digs on defense.

The Warriors continue to work hard and, most importantly, continue to fight and never give up. We struggled a little bit with serve receive against MFL MarMac, and we were just shy of our team serving goal, finishing at 87%. Our goal is to serve 90% or better as a team, so that will continue to be a focus moving forward.

I also felt like we did a much better job at the net, especially with our blocking. Carlie and Ella did a nice job of making an impact at the net and continuing to improve in that area of our game.

Even though it was a short week, the girls continue to put in the work and show improvement. We will keep building on the positives and working on the little things as we head into this week, where we take on North Fayette Valley on Tuesday evening.
