Warriors fall in regular season finale

The Central softball team closed out its regular season last week, falling to West Central and South Winneshiek in Upper Iowa Conference action.

The Blue Devils swept a twinbill in Elkader on June 29, then South Winn got the best of the Warriors in two games on July 1.

Central finished the regular season 3-24 overall and 2-20 in conference play—putting them fifth of six teams in the UIC’s small division standings. Kee won the small division with a record of 18-4, followed by Turkey Valley at 12-10, Clayton Ridge 10-13, West Central 6-14, Central 2-20 and Postville 1-19.

The Warriors began postseason action July 6, with a Class 1A - Region 7 opening round game at Calamus-Wheatland. The winner advances to play Central City on July 8.
