Central won the April 30 Clayton Ridge Boys Track Invitational, compiling 145 team points to best the host school’s 122. The Warriors were victorious in six events and second or third in eight others.
Highlights included personal records for senior Carson Ruegnitz in the discus and 3200 meter run. His discus throw of 124 feet, 2 inches ranks him sixth all time in the Warrior record books, and his time of 10:43.05 in the 3200 puts him fifth in Central’s top 10.
Also achieving PRs were Mason Loan and Julian Singleton in the 100 meter dash. Loan’s time of 11.65 seconds landed him fifth in Central’s top 10. Singleton achieved a time of 14.01 seconds in the race.
Griffin Koehn hit 31.99 seconds for a PR in the 200, and Tyce Zittergruen won the 400 hurdles with a personal best 1:02.93. Michael White and Declan Finley each secured PRs in the 800 meter run, with White clocking in at 2:21.25 and Finley 2:21.69.
In the shot put, Zane Embretson earned a career best throw of 33 feet, 6.75 inches.
