Bulldogs conclude season at state qualifying meet

The MFL MarMac boys track and field team concluded its season May 14, at the Class 2A state qualifying meet hosted by North Fayette Valley.

Freshman Tyce Wikner turned in the best finishes of the night for the Bulldogs, placing fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.31 seconds, then eighth in the 200 in 24.33 seconds.

Teammate Rylan Schroeder crossed the line 17th in the 200 meter dash, posting a time of 25.53 seconds.

Adian Reynolds was the team’s lone distance runner, finishing 22nd in the 800.

MFL MarMac’s best relay finish was 10th in the distance medley, where Schroeder, Marcus Stoddard, Blake Schutte and Jude Onken combined for a time of 4:32.39.

Schutte, Trace Moser, Onken and Reynolds earned 11th in the 4x800, while Archie Carlson, Stoddard, Schroeder and Wikner took 12th in the 4x100.

In the field events, Wikner and Carlson placed a respective 17th and 20th in the discus, turning in throws of 105-08 and 95-05. A distance of 32-10.50 landed Tyler Pecinovsky 18th in the shot put.
